Oscar-Nominated Documentary Director Chooses Ford Escape Hybrid from EV Rental Cars as His Ride for the Academy Award Week

He super-sized his menu for a month to prove a point and now director Morgan Spurlock, whose hilarious and popular documentary Super Size Me has been nominated for a 2005 Academy Award®, is downsizing to make another definitive statement in the week leading up to the official presentation.

EV Rental Cars, the only environmental based rental car company in the United States, is providing Spurlock, one of the nominees for the 77th Annual Academy Awards®, with a complementary, environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient Ford Escape Hybrid from its Los Angeles fleet at Fox Rent A Car. The director will have exclusive use of the fuel-friendly vehicle in the hectic week leading up to the world's most widely acclaimed entertainment industry honors.

Spurlock, whose "alternative movie" is receiving high praise from critics, will now draw attention to the need for increased environmental responsibility.  He also plans to have a second Ford Escape Hybrid on display at his post-Oscar party, to be held at Cinespace in Hollywood, to hold all of the gift bags he'll distribute to VIP guests.
