Sacramento's Green Rental Car Fleet

(Sacramento) - With big hopes and a tiny fleet, a Los Angeles company is trying to carve a niche for low“polluting rental cars in Sacramento.

E“V Rental Cars has opened its second location at Sacramento International Airport with just ten vehicles. For 44 to 64 dollars a day, you can rent an electric car or truck, or even a compact car fueled by natural gas.

Its first site at Los Angeles International airport has done well since opening in December. The company says its rented all 40 of its cars far more often than the industry average.

EV Rentals picked Sacramento for its availability of electric charging stations and heavy government traffic.

The company has teamed up with Budget Rent-a-Car Systems and plans to boost its Sacramento fleet to 20 vehicles by October.
